History

MCS Bank is a state-chartered, MUTUAL savings bank operating five community branches in Mifflin, Huntingdon and Snyder Counties and a Loan Center in Lewistown, Mifflin County.

Originally formed in 1923 as the Mifflin County Building and Loan Association, MCS Bank has grown throughout the years by focusing its attention on the local community and serving the core banking and home-financing needs of our retail customers as well as the business needs of our small-business customers.

At MCS Bank, we take great pride in our MUTUAL charter, or "mutuality". The independence that we derive from this banking structure grants us the flexibility we need to help the community grow and prosper, unfettered by short-term pressures to produce returns to stockholders. Free of stockholders, we are able to take a long-term view of operating in the best interests of our customers and communities, evidenced by both quality products and services provided at a fair price and by service to the community reflected in the wide variety of civic activities in which we engage.
